What to look for

Every category wears differently. These are the three things worth your attention here — and the three we photograph closest.
The rolled edge
A hand-rolled edge is the signature on a good silk. We photograph a corner close on every scarf so you can read it yourself.
Pulls and snags
Silk catches. A pull is not damage in the structural sense, but it's visible in the right light, so it goes in the condition note with a photograph.
Colour and light
Silks fade unevenly where they've been folded or displayed. We shoot in consistent daylight so what you see is what arrives.
The rubric
What the grade on each piece means.
Published in full, so a grade means the same thing here as it does anywhere else in the house.

| Pristine | Unworn or indistinguishable from unworn. No visible flaws under studio light. |
| Excellent | Light, careful use. Faint surface wear you have to look for. Nothing structural. |
| Very Good | Honest wear — light corner rub, faint interior marks — photographed and listed on the piece. |
| Good | Visible wear that has settled into character. Every flaw shown from every angle. |
| Loved | A piece with a past. Priced for it, photographed without mercy, described without excuses. |
